4to. [iv], 112pp, 110 engraved illustrations on 57 plates (including engraved vignette title and frontis; and there is a small woodcut on text page 84). Bound in (late 19thC?) half red leather and cloth, gilt and blind-decorated raised bands on spine (but no title), title gold-blocked on the upper board, extremities rubbed. Marbled endpapers, edges tinted. Some offsetting of the plates, but generally text pages very clean, some spotting on some plates (perhaps half of them so affected, none very badly), small damp marks in fore and/or tail-margins of the last 13 plates (not affecting images).
