Published with the authority of the Tasmanian Government. 4to. viii, 148pp. Staple-bound in pictorial soft covers; a couple of slight patches of silverfishing to the front cover, with a few tiny holes; small rust-spots from staples showing on rear wrapper; otherwise a very good clean copy. *** The main title was much used in the first half of the 20th century, mainly for tourist brochures and booklets, but this is a much more substantial promotional effort, with a focus more on attracting investment and economic immigrants - as evidenced by the continuation of the title: '...its activities and enterprises, and the opportunities it affords, thanks to its wonderful Hydro-Electric System, for the establishment of Secondary Industries'. To emphasise the point, the front cover features a map of the Tasmanian power distribution system. The book also includes a section on 'Trout Fishing and All That' (pp133-44, with illustrations) - then as now a great attraction for the tourist and settler alike.
