(Whitcombe's Story Books, no 314.) 183x122mm. 32pp, 3 full-page and 10 text illustrations in b&w. Stapled in the original pictorial wrappers, as issued. The cover illustration printed in blue. There is a slight damp mark in the upper fore-margin of pp11-18, otherwise a very good to fine clean copy. ***Concerning a family of Tasmanian Devils. The author was Annie Rattray Osborn (nee O'Neill), and the illustrations are by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite - although this is not stated in this issue, the full-page plates bear the 'I.R.O.' inscription. See Muir 5550 & 5556 - this issue agrees with 5556, except that the children's age-range differs and it is part of the Whitcombe's Story Books series rather than the Australian Nature Story Readers (also by W&T). Muir does note that there were many printings of the work.
