First edition. 8vo. xii, 364pp, 123 b&w text illustrations, full-page coloured map and folding map at rear, 32pp publisher's catalogue. Original dark green cloth, lettered in silver and decorated in silver and brown on the upper board; extremities rubbed, slight fraying at head and tail of spine, a little flecking and slight fading at foot of the upper board (a plate of some sort possibly removed); now in a clear mylar wrapper. The ink stamp (upside down) of "Coates' Library, Huddersfield" on verso of front free endpaper. Some spotting to half-title and title, and to the fore-edges, otherwise a good clean copy.
