A little pale foxing early, otherwise a very good clean copy, now in a clear mylar wrapper *** The English 'occasional' poet Matthew Green (1696-1737) whose works were - with the exception of 'The Grotto' (of which 'a few copies were privately circulated in 1733'; included in this collection) - unpublished in his lifetime. 'The Spleen' was admired by Pope and Dr Johnson, though the latter thought it not poetry.
